The phenomenal rise of men in technological advancement has propelled mankind to the edge of outer space. Exploration of outer space has become the norms these days.
Seven years ago, Professor Stephen Hawking insisted that mankind must move to outer space within a century or face extinction. It is understandable such thoughts are motivated for the survival of mankind.

Last year, according to Future Travel Today, several reasons were put forth why we must colonize outer space.

Man’s desire to colonize outer space is inevitable. This is especially so with the recent crisis on weapons of mass destruction whether originating in Iran in the Middle East or the threat posed by the North Korean Regime indicating nuclear war with the US is imminent. There is no lack for such aspiration even without man threatening to kill one another into extinction.
However, the Holy Bible does have something to say about outer space beyond the reach of human abode for centuries. In the very beginning of God’s revelation with regards to the creation of this present heavens and earth, outer space has been indicated as a domain that the Lord did not give a pass during the six days of creation.
On day two where outer space is stretched out, the Lord did not mention that it was good. The rest of the days of creation ended with the Lord satisfied giving a statement it was good.
Genesis 1:6: And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Genesis 1:7: And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
Genesis 1:8: And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
It is more than just coincidence or interesting that the Lord did not see fit to put His stamp of approval for the creation of outer space in day two. Further studies in the words of God revealed something more than meets the eye concerning outer space.
God leaving out confirming creation on day two with regards to outer space to be good is not without reason. It is because the heavens are not clean in God’s sight.
Job 15:15: Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
This evidence is as clear as day. Everything was good before the fall of man but heavens were already unclean. This also explains the appearance of Satan in the Garden of Eden as a serpent.
There was no mention of the creation of angels and the fall of Satan during those six days. The scriptures revealed that in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:1: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Heaven and earth were already in complete status. God further revealed the conditions of the earth thereafter.
Genesis 1:2: And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
The civilization of the spirit world prior to these six days of creation resulting in the entrance of Adam could be glimpsed from other portions of scriptures in Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 concerning the fall of Satan. So when outer space was stretched out on day two, this was the location where the Satan and his fallen angels still have access.
Prophet Isaiah disclosed the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high which is a separate and distinct category from the kings of the earth upon the earth.
Isaiah 24:21: And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
There is no mistake there are forces up in outer space that are enemies of God. Moreover, the incident concerning spiritual revelation given to prophet Daniel also revealed a warfare taking place in outer space.
Daniel 10:13: But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Daniel 10:20: Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.
According to New Testament scriptures, Christians are warned to take heed of the prince of the power of the air and the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience. There is certainly something up there and out there to beware of.
Ephesians 2:2: Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Christians are further warned concerning the spiritual warfare and one category to beware is spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Indeed the heavens are not clean in God’s sight!
Satan having access to heaven is a scriptural fact.
Job 1:6: Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
Job 1:7: And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
Job 1:8: And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
Job: 2:1: Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
Job 2:2: And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
Satan is also responsible for accusing God’s saints upon the earth.
Hence, Christians are also warned to be sober and vigilant of the devil.
1 Peter 5:8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
But thanks be unto God that one day, Satanic activities of the Devil will be curtailed in heaven and he will be cast unto the earth. He will not have access to outer space any more.
Revelation 12:10: And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Revelation 12:11: And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Revelation 12:12: Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Revelation 12:13: And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
So on earth, fallen men are incorrigibly superstitious and idolatrous. They worship the host of heaven and it is again more than coincidence that planets are named after mythological Greek gods.
2 Kings 23:5: And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.
Zephaniah 1:5: And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;
Even when no offerings are offered to these false gods today, men still observe astrology and worry about their predictions. Ever wonder why space crafts are also named after those mythological Greek gods? Men are indeed incurably superstitious!
Men’s quest to colonize outer space is but an excuse to get closer to their false gods regardless whether they realize it or not. By giving humanistic justification for advancement and survival of the human race, their efforts certainly appear noble.
Such humanistic endeavour however, is simply another manifestation of rebellion against God since the day when men was of one language trying to build a tower that may reach unto heaven.
Genesis 11:4: And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
Such survival instinct reaching to outer space is definitely more advance today than thousand years ago when men was of one language.
But God has categorically decreed that outer space is not the domain for man.
Psalms 115:16: The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
Man’s relentless pursuit to outer space is reminiscence of the fall of Satan trying to ascend into heaven.
Isaiah 14:13: For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isaiah 14:14: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
No man alive on earth can reach outer space unless God invites him. One such person is Enoch who did not die.
Genesis 5:24: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
Hebrews 11:5: By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Another person is Elijah when God sent His chariot of fire to fetch him to outer space.
2 Kings 2:1: And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
2 Kings 2:11: And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
These men did not require special purpose vehicles to be built to transport them to outer space. No spacesuits were required for these men that left planet Earth to ascend into outer space.
Heading up into outer space is not the privilege of just Enoch and Elijah. The ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ into heaven after His resurrection seen by many disciples in the New Testament is a foretaste for the saints concerning things to come in the future.
Mark 16:19: So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
Luke 24:51: And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
Acts 1:7: And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
Acts 1:8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1:9: And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
In addition, ascending to outer space is the privilege for all Christians whether dead or alive some day in the future when the Lord returns to bring His saints home.
1 Thessalonians 4:13: But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
1 Thessalonians 4:14: For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1 Thessalonians 4:15: For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1 Thessalonians 4:16: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1 Thessalonians 4:17: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
So the saints of God have the rights to look forward to new heavens and a new earth in the Kingdom Age.
2 Peter 3:13: Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Isaiah 65:17: For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Isaiah 66:22: For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
Eventually, it will come full circle back to Genesis 1:1.
Genesis 1:1: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Revelation 21:1: And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
This is when the final war of ages is over where heaven and earth exist as a single unity prior to the fall of the spirit world in which the days of heaven upon the earth become a reality.
Deuteronomy 11:21: That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
