The Fountain Of Life

Preface

The psalmist tells us that the Lord is the fountain of life and in the light of the Lord we shall see light. Fountains are a wonder to behold. They never cease to amaze and to entertain. It is refreshing to look at some fountains. Like waterfalls, fountains give a very refreshing feeling to those who spend time to enjoy their life giving properties. Fountains exude an air of calm and a vibrancy of joy. The cool refreshing feeling of standing before a fountain reminiscences the Garden of Eden where a mist from the earth watered the whole face of the ground (Genesis 2:6).

Fallen men understand the life giving nature of fountains. Architects often include fountains in their designs of the buildings both indoors and outdoors to liven up the environment. The musical fountain in Sentosa draws many visitors to simply sit there and enjoy its exuberant performance. Fallen men do believe in fountains. The fountain of wealth in Suntec City is one such testimony of the important role of fountains in our surroundings. Fountains are very important part of nature our Creator God provides for our refreshment and sustenance. Fountains in nature simply speak about the marvelous creative acts of our gracious loving God. What would this world become if there were no fountains on earth?

The ultimate fountain is God Himself. For with God is the fountain of life. God is the very source of this fountain that gives life to His creatures. The fountain of life is a constant theme presented throughout the Holy Bible. The fountain of life can be found from the first book to the last book in the Holy Bible. It never fails to provide the source of life giving elements fallen men need to live and most importantly how to live forever. The psalmist no doubt understood this very well when he penned Psalm 36:9: For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
