NIV OWNERS: HOW GODLY ARE THEY?

I recently received an article that pointed out a fact of which I was not previously aware. This was the fact that HarperSanFrancisco (HarperCollins), the company that owns the copyright on the NIV through its subsidiary Zondervan, also publishes Anton La Vey’s Satanic Bible. Not only do they publish this abomination that is basically the antithesis of the Holy Bible, but it is presently their 6th best selling book (rank changes on a daily basis)! This inspired me to look more closely at this company, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch. Long before I became a Christian, I knew that this company was a major promoter of homosexuality, witchcraft, and New Age buffoonery, and it came as no surprise to me that they would publish The Satanic Bible, but what does still shock me is the number of Christians who are fooled by NIV’s owners. I have referred to this company in quite a few of the articles that I have written in this series, but I never presented a list of what the NIV publisher has put in print until I was inspired by the article. The following is a list of HarperSanFrancisco/HarperCollins publications that should be of interest to those who use the NIV out of ignorance. Since the NIV refers to the future reformation after the return of Jesus Christ as “the new order,” removes the Antichrist by calling the number of the Beast “man’s number,” removes Lucifer entirely and conflates him with Jesus, removes the name of Jesus or his title of Christ thousands of times, and includes hundreds of other perversions and omissions of Scripture, the NIV fits in well with the rest of the books in this list.

The following list is not intended as a full bibliography. I have no interest in helping witches, New Age space cadets, Sufis, sodomites and lesbians find these books. The list is simply intended to show Bible-believing Christians, and NIV-using Christians who still think, but have been misled into believing that the NIV is a real Bible, what the NIV publisher is promoting.

If you can read the following list and still trust the NIV, God help you.

Books on witchcraft are too numerous to list them all. Feminist and witch Starhawk publishes through this company. Books About the Bible

I’ve been trying to explain to people that the NIV’s pretend-translators were not Bible-believing Christians, if any of them were even Christians at all. The NIV’s owners publish plenty of books that show their true agenda. Who Wrote the New Testament? The Making of the Christian Myth by Burton L. Mack

HarperCollin’s own site describe Mack’s Gospel-maligning book in positive terms that leave no doubt where they stand. “In this groundbreaking and controversial book, Burton Mack brilliantly exposes how the Gospels are fictional mythologies created by different communities for various purposes and are only distantly related to the actual historical Jesus. Mack’s innovative scholarship which boldly challenges traditional Christian understanding’ will change the way you approach the New Testament and think about how Christianity arose.” [http://www.harpercollins.com/]

They even published Bishop John Spong’s trash, including

The Sins of Scripture

Liberating the Gospels Reading the Bible with Jewish Eyes

Jesus for the Non-Religious

A New Christianity for a New World

Living in Sin?

Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism

The NIV’s owners describe Spong’s book Liberating the Gospels thus: “In this boldest book since Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism, Bishop John Shelby Spong offers a compelling view of the Gospels as thoroughly Jewish tests. Spong powerfully argues that many of the key Gospel accounts of events in the life of Jesus-from the stories of his birth to his physical resurrection-are not literally true. He offers convincing evidence that the Gospels are a collection of Jewish midrashic stories written to convey the significance of Jesus. This remarkable discovery brings us closer to how Jesus was really understood in his day and should be in ours.” [http://www.harpercollins.com/]

This silly reprobate who is quite open in his hostility toward the Bible has long been an advocate of sodomy and lesbianism, atheism, evolution, mythologization of the Bible, and an endless list of evils. What a Bible-hating critic of Christianity was doing working as a “bishop” in a church that still professes Christianity is a great mystery. Only in the loony bin of modern society could we find a situation so goofy as a church hiring an enemy of what he was purportedly hired to promote. Spong is a product of the wackiest loony bins in America such as Harvard and Yale Divinity schools, Union Theological, Chapel Hill, and Protestant Episcopal Theological Seminary. The fact that such a devil would be promoted and praised by the NIV owners, should tell modern Christians all that they need to know.

Pushing the mythology notion even further, the NIV’s owners have published The Bible with Sources Revealed by Richard E. Friedman. Harper’s website describes it thus: “For centuries, biblical scholars have worked on discovering how the Bible came to be. The consensus that emerged from experts of various traditions was the Documentary Hypothesis: the idea that ancient writers produced documents of poetry, prose, and law over many hundreds of years, which editors then used as sources to fashion the books of the Bible that people have read for the last two thousand years.” [http://www.harpercollins.com/]

This scholarly untenable theory, also known as JEPD theory, has done more harm to Bible belief than any other theory. It is odd indeed that the best selling “bible” in the world would be published by a company that promotes this atheistic theory.

HarperSanFrancisco also published some of the nutty books of Neil Douglas-Klotz (see RBC #85) who claims to present hidden esoteric wisdom within the Aramaic New Testament. Harper published his Prayers of the Cosmos: Meditations on the Aramaic Words of Jesus, and his Desert Wisdom: Middle Eastern Sacred Writings from the Goddess through the Sufis. His writings match those of Eugene Peterson in New Age blasphemy, and actually surpass them in silliness.

Not surprisingly, HarperSanFrancisco/Collins is one of the major publishers of sodomite and lesbian literature in the world. Harper’s website even includes a picture of two men in lying together in a sexual pose (without nudity). This shouldn’t be surprising considering the makeup of the NIV committee. One of the members of the committee, Virginia Mollenkott, has even been published by HarperSanFrancisco.

There will be some who will make silly arguments that the KJV has been printed by some disreputable companies as well. The Catholic-owned Thomas Nelson is certainly an example. This company has printed the perverted Westcott-Hort-based New King James Version that has a witchcraft and satanic symbol on its cover, and the even more perverted NCV, however, they don’t even advertise the KJV any more since they own the copyright on the NKJV. Through their openly Catholic subsidiary they publish many pagan books as well, although they are disguised in the trappings of the Roman Catholic Church.

Nevertheless, the KJV can be published by anyone who wants to do so, which is why there are so many of them for such low prices or for free. No one needs to ask permission from lesbians, feminists, sodomites, perverts, Satanists, witches, atheists, pornographers, child molesting advocates, abortion promoters, or any other type of degenerate God-hating freak in order to quote or print the King James Bible. Few who publish the inspired version of the Bible are looking for a profit. I have helped hand out thousands of Bibles in front of high schools, and many of those KJVs were supplied for free or for between fifty cents to one dollar each, which is printing cost. I could make photocopies of those Bibles and distribute them and the printers will be glad, not mad. The wicked publishers of the NIV, NKJV, and other perversions, will sue anyone who prints their versions without shelling out filthy lucre to their greedy and godless publishers, and the perverted pornographers and witchcraft promoters who own the NIV are the worst. This shows us what their primary motive is, which is the acquisition of filthy lucre, and has nothing to do with spreading the Gospel. Their second motive is evident from the content of Rupert Murdoch’s company’s publications is to pervert Christianity and society in general, and to emolish people’s faith in the Bible. It is not surprising that the company that produces one of the most satanically-inspired of all of the Bible mistranslations also publishes so many satanic and pornographic books. The question that never stops puzzling me is why any so-called Christian would continue to use and promote such a perversion of Scripture once its numerous and obvious flaws are pointed out to them and once they are shown what other kinds of books are published by its satanic owners. Some have called the NIV the New Idiot’s Version; indeed, this is the best name for the NIV.
